Pocket Testament League - a review

“You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.
Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.”  John 6:67-69 NIV


This Scripture is a personal favourite of mine.  Many of Christ's disciples were unable to accept his teachings as they were too hard to understand.  Perhaps some were being wooed by spiritualists, claiming theirs was the better way to go. 


In this day and age things are not much different. There are so many different religions and philosophies that it can be hard for people to spot what is truth and what is fallacy.


For the most part they offer half-truths; ideals for living a good life, often based on the teachings of Christ, but flawed in so many ways.  Ultimately, no matter how respectable or 'good' their teachings are, their followers will be left with empty promises of eternal life that, they will realise too late, only relationship with Jesus Christ can bring.


In such a web of lies and deceit it is so important that we, as Christians, venture forth and declare the absolute Truth of Jesus Christ. 


Evangelism is often cited as one of the hardest roles for Christians. "I don't have the words to say," "I don't want to offend my friends or family," and, "What if they don't believe me?" are some of the most common reasons many of us shy away from evangelism.
